Our Afro-Latinx Founders Are Part Of The New C-Suite 2023 Class

We’re celebrating big time this November! Our very own founders are honorees, among other WOC business founders, in the New C-Suite Class. It’s clear to see that the future of female Afro-Latine entrepreneurship is here, and LUNA MAGIC is right at the forefront. On November 13, Cosmo and Digitalundivided — a nonprofit for empowering Black and Latina female entrepreneurs — announced the New C-Suite Class of 2023, which includes our founders Shaira and Mabel Frías.

“Being part of the 2023 C-Suite Honorees list is a tremendous honor for us and the entire Luna Magic team. This recognition validates the hard work, passion, and commitment we have poured into building a brand that celebrates diversity and empowers individuals to embrace their unique beauty," said Mabel Frías. "We believe in the transformative power of makeup and self-expression, and this acknowledgment reinforces our mission to inspire and uplift individuals from all walks of life,” said Shaira Frías.

In 2021, the Afro-Latinx makeup brand got a $250,000 offer from Barbara Corcoran on Shark Tank. Then in just a few years, LUNA MAGIC  made its nationwide-store debut with its launch in more than 2,500 Target, CVS, and Walmart across the US. The Frías sisters aren’t just winning with LUNA MAGIC, they’ve also focused on mentoring and empowering other hopeful Latina entrepreneurs.

During this year’s Hispanic Heritage Month, LUNA MAGIC held the 2nd annual Mentor Magic initiative in collaboration with Prose in our founders’ hometown of Washington Heights, NYC. Sponsored by Prose, a $10,000 Emerging Entrepreneur Grant was awarded to Genesis Dominguez, founder and CEO of Honey Beauty, a haircare brand filled with clean ingredients and a focus on scalp health.

The C-Suite highlights and honors a group of innovative female founders of color, chosen by a team of expert judges. These honorees receive mentorship, workshops, and overall support that’s provided by Digitalundivided as they work on scaling up their businesses.

Among the C-Suite honorees are: Dafna Mizrahi, Curamia Tequila co-founder and CEO; Jasmine Jones, Cherry Blossom Intimates co-founder and CEO; Candace Mitchell Harris, Myavana co-founder and CEO; Courtney Caldwell, ShearShare co-founder and CEO; Riana Lynn, Journey Foods founder and CEO; Kristen Sonday, Paladin co-founder and CEO; Mary Hernandez and Beatriz Acevedo, Suma Wealth co-founders; Newsha Ghaeli and Mariana Matus, Biobot Analytics co-founders; and Daniela Blanco, Sunthetics co-founder and CEO.
